The SAT or the Scholastic Aptitude Test is a standardised exam that evaluates the mathematical, writing and reading prowess of a candidate for admissions to colleges in the US and Canada.

What is SAT?

The full-form of SAT is Scholastic Aptitude Test. It is a standardised entrance examination designed for high-school students looking for a college education in the US and in Canada.

The exam is meant to test the candidate’s ability to comprehend, solve and analyse problems. There are three sections in total for Maths and English. Each section is marked within the range of 200-800 points, and the final score ranges from 400-1600.

The third optional written essay is scored on a scale of 0-24 and varies incrementally.

The eligibility criteria for SAT 2018-2019 are as given:

16 years of age and above.

Registration for SAT 2018-2019

1. You’ll have to sign in to your free College Board account.
2. Make sure all your identity information matches what’s on your photo ID.
3. Choose which tests you want to take. You can change your selection on the main day.
4. Upload a photo that meets all photo requirements.
5. Check out, and print your Admission Ticket.

To register, you need a debit/credit card with international currency support.

College Board, does not specify any age requirement; however, a valid Indian passport is a must to appear for the exam.

Fee Structure

The SAT fee varies based on the country of the applicant. In Indian Rupees, the SAT exam fee is around INR 6,200-7,000.
