AILET
The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is a national level law examination. On the basis of the AILET score, candidates are allowed to take admission in BA LLB (Hons), LLM and PhD programs.

What is AILET?
- The All India Law Entrance Test is commonly termed as AILET. It is a national level law examination.
- This examination is conducted on an annual basis on the first Sunday of the month of May.
- The authority responsible for the management of the AILET is the National Law University (NLU), New Delhi.
- Generally, the notification and detailed information about this examination is released as a notification by NLU New Delhi on its official website and in national newspapers.
- It is an examination for undergraduate as well as a postgraduate law courses.
- AILET is held online in a few centres across the country. The other centres conduct this exam offline.
- On the basis of the AILET score, you are allowed admission in BA LLB (Hons), LLM and PhD programs that are offered exclusively by NLU New Delhi.
- AILET scores can help you secure admission in 83 BA LLB programs.
- AILET scores can help you secure admission in 20 LLM programs.
- In the year 2019, there will be approximately 18,500 AILET applicants for the BA LLB program and approximately 1,200 AILET applicants for the LLM program.
- There are a total of 83 seats for BA LLB programs and 20 seats for LLM programs.
How to apply
Eligibility Criteria for AILET
The eligibility criterion for AILET is:
- You must have a minimum of 50% in the Higher Secondary School (10+2) or intermediate or equivalent exam.
- If you are currently appearing for your class 12 or any other equivalent examination, you are also eligible.
- You must score at least 50% in the attempted AILET.
- There is no upper age limit to appear for AILET.
- Candidates with compartmental subjects are not eligible to apply for this exam.
Registration for AILET
Follow the given steps to register for AILET 2019:
- Visit AILET official website to access the application form and read the instructions carefully.
- Fill the basic information in order to register and proceed to fill in the application form. Here, you will have to provide your email ID, mobile number, date of birth, name, parent’s names and address and so on.
- Confirm your details in the redirected ‘Application locker’ page.
- Choose the universities and college
- Click on the option ‘Click here to apply’ that is mentioned beside the NLUs. This will finalize your application to that college.
- Choose your course of interest. For example: select ‘BA LLB’ from the drop down menu in the next page.
- Click the ‘Apply Now’ button.
- Upon being redirected to the ‘Application Form of AILET’ page, fill in the online application form.
- Upload your documents, photograph, signature and click on ‘Save/Continue to Payment’ to pay the fees.
- Payment of AILET application fees is possible via both online and offline modes. After paying the fees, a confirmation mail will be sent to your registered email ID.
- Take a print out of these documents of acknowledgements for future reference.
Admit Card for AILET
- The AILET 2019 admit card will be released on the AILET official website. You can download it only after the submission of your application and fee payment.
- To download your AILET admit card:
- Visit the AILET official website
- Click on ‘AILET Admit Card’.
- Upon selecting this option, you will be directed to a page where you are required to provide your name and date of birth, or application number and date of birth.
- Once you submit or log in, you can check and download your AILET 2019 admit card (also known as hall ticket).
- Print the admit card since it is essential for your admission into the exam hall.
