What is JIPMER?
JIPMER is a national level under graduate medical entrance exam, conducted by Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) for admission to MBBS programs.
How to apply
Eligibility Criteria for JIPMER
JIPMER MBBS 2019 has the following eligibility requirements:
- You must be an Indian citizen/overseas citizen of India.
- You must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission.
- You should have been born on or before Jan 1, 2003
- You must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in Biology/Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, with English as an elective subject, as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
- Unreserved/General category: Such aspirants must should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English with at least 50% marks in all subjects.
- Reserved/Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ other backward classes: Such aspirants must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English with at least 40% marks in all the subjects.
- Orthopedic Physically Challenged: OPH candidates belonging to General category should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English with at least 45% marks in all the subjects.
Application Form for JIPMER
- The exam conducting authority will release the JIPMER 2019 application form through the online mode only.
- You can get the application form from 6th March 2019 till 12th April 2019.
- You should fill the JIPMER online application form carefully, no changes will be allowed after the form submission.
- Keep the printout of the filled application form for further reference.
Registration for JIPMER
To begin with, you need to register yourself on the official website.
- After registering, you will receive a login link on your registered email. Use your user id and password to login.
- Now you need to fill in all the details and submit the application form
- After submitting all the details, you need to pay the application fee
- Once the fee is paid, you will be guided to the confirmation page, which will have a download option.
Application Fee for JIPMER
The application fee is Rs. 1500 for general category and Rs. 1200 for SC/ST and P-SC/ST candidates. The fee can be paid online only, through Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking.
NRI and OCI candidates will have to pay Rs. 3000/- as an application fee. OPH and P-OPH candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

Admit Card for JIPMER
Candidates could download their JIPMER 2019 Admit Card from the website.
The admit card will be available from 27th May 2019 (tentatively). No admit cards are sent through offline mode or by post.
The JIPMER Hall Ticket 2019 contains details of the candidate and exam center, such as; name of the candidate, date of birth, venue of exam center, date and time of exam, photograph, etc.
Admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the exam hall. You are required to carry your admit card to the exam venue. In the absence of the admit card, you will be barred from the test.
Syllabus for JIPMER
Syllabus will be comprised of Class 11 and 12 subjects. The syllabus is prescribed by CBSE and state boards.

Exam Pattern for JIPMER
- The examination comprises of 5 sections: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Logical and Quantitative Reasoning, English and Comprehension
- It consists of 200 multiple choice questions
- Each correct answer shall be awarded 4 marks
- 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer
- No marks will be deducted for questions marked for review or left unattempted.

Counselling for JIPMER
After the declaration of the result, the counselling will be conducted offline.
JIPMER 2019 counselling will begin in June 2019. The counselling will be conducted in four rounds. You have to go through biometric fingerprint and image verification before appearing for the counselling.
Carry your original documents at the time of the counselling process. They will be verified then. Seats will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of the merit list.
